In 2025, Highline Security undertook a project for Carnegie Hall, focusing on the design, fabrication, and installation of an advanced freight door system. The client required heavy-duty hinges for a custom oversized door with a unique panel projection that met landmark approval standards. Highline designed, fabricated and installed a tailored solution that not only complied with structural and aesthetic demands but also catered to the specific requirements of Carnegie Hall's design standards.
The project faced significant security challenges, primarily due to the need for hinges that could support the weight and operational demands of extra thick wooden doors, which surpassed the weight ratings of existing hinge models typically designed for aluminum.
Highline strategized to create a custom hinge that would ensure full door functionality while adhering to Carnegie Hall's historical specifications and landmark approval.
Highline's solution successfully integrated specially designed heavy-duty hinges that met the exacting weight ratings and pivot requirements, allowing the doors to operate smoothly and securely. The hinges were crafted with a finish approved by Carnegie Hall, ensuring visual harmony with the venue's aesthetic. The implementation of this custom freight door system not only enhanced the operational security of the hall but also preserved the integrity of its renowned design.
