In 2026, Highline Security was tasked with the restoration and installation of replica gilded stage doors for the New York City Center. The project involved meeting the client’s needs for historically accurate designs reminiscent of the early 20th century, while ensuring modern security standards were upheld. Highline successfully delivered a pair of intricately designed and secure stage doors, addressing both aesthetic and functional requirements.
The project faced significant challenges due to the unavailability of machines that could replicate the original brass pressing method used for the original doors. Additionally, Highline needed to ensure that the new doors met contemporary security standards while maintaining the historical integrity of the design.
To solve these issues, Highline adopted a creative approach that involved custom moldings fabricated in-house as well as sourced from France, ensuring an authentic look and durable performance.
The completed project resulted in the successful installation of two replica gilded stage doors that accurately reflected the design of the original 20th-century doors while incorporating modern security features. Highline's meticulous attention to detail and innovative solutions enabled the doors to meet the stringent requirements of both aesthetic and security demands, greatly enhancing the entrance security of the New York City Center and positively impacting the client's operational integrity.
